Optidata TMS Falcon® optimizes supply channels in the Ciech S.A. Group.

OPTIDATA Sp. z o.o. implemented the TMS Falcon® system in the CIECH Chemical Group, one of the European market leaders in chemicals. The CIECH Chemical Group ranks among the top fifty largest companies in Poland.

System implementation

The implementation of the TMS Falcon® system was preceded by a detailed analysis of the requirements of CIECH S.A., during which OPTIDATA modeled the client’s processes and prepared the technical design of the target solution.

The TMS Falcon® system has been implemented in both manufacturing plants and at the CIECH S.A. headquarters. The TMS system stores data on freight forwarders, contractors, drivers, goods, and packaging patterns.

A primary requirement for the TMS Falcon® system was its ability to integrate with the parent OeBS system that the client was using at the time. This requirement was fulfilled through a dedicated data exchange interface.

The system enables the offering of contracts to transport suppliers. Within the TMS system, proposals for specific routes can be periodically sent to external transport providers. Based on their feedback, contractual agreements can be concluded with carriers, or current price lists can be assigned.

Shipment monitoring is a key function of the TMS system. It provides logistics department employees with transparent tools to track the status of ongoing shipments. Thanks to this functionality, it is easy to supervise delivery timeliness, monitor supplier reliability, and manage shipping documents.

The TMS Falcon® system also allows for monitoring and assigning costs to transport services performed for CIECH S.A. Its functionality enables the tracking of shipping expenses. Using generated reports, users can compare actual transport costs with both contracted rates and price list prices.

Another important requirement that was met was enabling logistics employees to communicate with transport suppliers via a web platform. The TMS Falcon® system allows users to download transport orders, send notifications about dates and loading times, confirm deliveries, and update data related to their own fleet, including driver and transport details.
