Silesia Meat Processing Plant S.A. is a Polish processing company based in Sosnowiec. Since 2017, it has been part of the Cedrob Group – a leader in the meat industry in Poland. With over 30 years of experience in meat product manufacturing, the company operates five plants and produces more than 8,000 tons of products monthly. Thanks to its extensive distribution network, the company decided to implement an IT system aimed at maximizing automation of transport-related processes. To carry out this task, it selected OPTIDATA – a company with over 20 years of experience in developing IT systems for large networks. OPTIDATA is the developer of the TMS Falcon system – an advanced tool for management across various structures, from large-scale distribution and high-volume production companies to complex logistics systems. The software was launched at two Silesia Meat Processing Plant locations – in Sosnowiec and Goczałkowice-Zdrój – which are responsible for managing transport to the company’s other facilities.
It is worth emphasizing that the Falcon TMS controls all activities related to the transport process at ZM Silesia. The system oversees tasks including, among others, planning, route optimization, calculation, and settlement of transport costs. Planning is carried out automatically based on orders generated from the ERP software. The integration of these two systems ensures data consistency, enables better load management, and allows for more efficient delivery planning. The TMS operator can select the available fleet in the planning wizard, and the algorithm generates optimal routes that improve efficiency and reduce transport costs.
Additionally, the automatic fuel adjustment mechanism implemented by OPTIDATA facilitates cost management by indexing rates based on current fuel prices. The calculation in the system is performed automatically thanks to data synchronization.
